How old can my child be to play junior cricket?
Your child can start playing cricket with the Lakes Knights through Cricket Blast from age 5. For Saturday junior competition cricket, players can join Under 10s from around 10 years of age, with teams available through to older junior age groups. The club provides age-appropriate formats to help children learn, develop skills, and enjoy the game.

Do girls play cricket at Lakes Knights?
Yes. Girls can participate in dedicated girls' programs and competitions, or play in mixed teams depending on the competition and age group. The club is committed to providing an inclusive environment for all players.

When are games played
Junior matches are typically played on Saturdays, with match times varying by age group and competition format.
For seniors this varies, more information will be given by coaches.
Do all players get a chance to bat and bowl?
Yes. In our younger age groups, formats are designed to ensure every child is actively involved, with opportunities for all players to bat, bowl and field.
Can my child progress to higher levels of cricket?
Yes. Lakes Knights provides development pathways from introductory cricket through to junior competition, representative opportunities and senior cricket.
