Whether your child is brand new to the game or already passionate about cricket, we have opportunities to learn, grow, and enjoy the sport in a family-friendly environment.

Our Seasons

🌞Summer – Brisbane North Cricket Association (BNJCA) (Main Season)

• The primary cricket season, running under theBrisbane North Junior Cricket Association (BNJCA).

• Age-appropriate formats, from modified junior games through to competitive team cricket.

• A focus on building skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship while having fun.

❄️Winter – Warehouse Cricket Association

• A longer, optional competition for those who want to play all in the winter.

• Great for extra match experience and skill development.

• While slightly more competitive, focus on development.

🌞 Summer Cricket – October to March

Summer is themain cricket seasonatThe Lakes Knights Cricket Club, played through theBrisbane North Junior Cricket Association (BNJCA). Running fromOctober to March, this is where cricket is at its most fun, social, and inclusive – perfect for juniors of all ages and abilities.

Matches are played onSaturdays, with a focus on ensuringeveryone gets a go. Whether your child is brand new to cricket or ready to build on their skills, there’s a format to suit.

Age Groups & Formats

• 🏏Under 10–T20 format: Short, fun games where everyone gets a bat and a bowl. Perfect introduction to cricket.

• 🏏Under 11–More overs, more skills: Players start to experience a longer game while learning the foundations of proper cricket rules.

• 🏏Under 12 & Open–Full cricket rules: Juniors play in matches that follow the traditional game format, preparing them for higher levels of cricket.

Summer at the Knights is all aboutfun, learning, and friendships– the perfect way for kids to fall in love with the game.

Saturday Competition

Generally, (exceptions listed below) each day’s play shall commence at 8:15am.

We ask that if you are playing on turf wickets, to please start at 8.00am and ensure that you finish by 11.30am so that the groundsmen are able to prepare the pitches for the Grade games later that day.

Exceptions to standard starting time

• For Mixed U10, U12,U13,U15 and U16, play will commence at 8.15am
• For Mixed U11 and U14 play will commence at 1.15pm.

If play commences earlier or later than the scheduled start time then the finish time shall be that time which is 3 hours and 30 minutes after the commencement time subject to the proviso that irrespective of how late a match starts, play must conclude no later than 3 hours and 45 minutes after the scheduled start time.

All Players:

Due to COVID-19, The Lakes Cricket Club requests players supply their own bats, pads, gloves, helmets and cricket protector. It is also compulsory (Cricket Australia Policy) for each batsman to wear a helmet. All players are expected to wear long white cricket pants, the club shirt (long sleeve from 2019/20 season onward is preferred) and a floppy brimmed hat while fielding and sunscreen.

Junior Cricket : 

Should a player leave the club prior to the season ending, TLKCC will retrospectively withhold all or part of the fees paid to compensate for any ancillary costs already outlaid e.g. BNJCA Registration costs, Insurance, Team photograph, trophies, etc.

Players who register for post Christmas season will be charged a reduced Registration fee.Sibling discount is available for all registrations except Junior Blasters.

❄️ Winter Warehouse Cricket – May to August

Cricket doesn’t stop when summer ends! AtThe Lakes Knights Cricket Club, we offer juniors the chance to continue their cricket journey through theWinter Warehouse competition, running fromMay to August.

This competition provides amore serious and competitive style of cricketfor juniors who want to challenge themselves and keep developing during the off-season.
